Stalin wasn't really left-wing, in practice...he's really just another Hitler (expulsion of the Volga Germans, Tatars, Chechens, Kalmyks, etc.) Yes, Stalin was a racist, in fact, he was about to have a go at the Soviet Jews at the time of his death, but Stalinism resembles Nazism in most respects, despite the rhetoric. Racism has always been a damning feature of Russian culture, no matter who is in charge...google Catherine the "Great," and google Putin's current tolerance of Russian Nazis (not a mistake in terminology).
