Publishing News

Kij Johnson's "26 Monkeys, Also the Abyss" has been reprinted in the
May/June 2010 issue of World Literature Today.

Michael Merriam sold a reprint of his short story "Jenny's Magic" to
Hazard Cat.

Michael Merriam's The Horror at Cold Springs, tp, Sam's Dot Publishing,
May 2010.

Narrative Power ed. L. Timmel Duchamp (Aqueduct Press tp, 2010)
includes essays by Eleanor Arnason, Alan DeNiro, and ex-local Carolyn
Ives Gilman.

Local publisher (missed last year): Brian Evenson's Fugue State, from
Coffee House Press, 2009.

Neil Gaiman's American Gods was #4 trade pb on the May Locus bestseller
list; Iorich by ex-local Steven Brust tied for #5 hc. Gaiman's American
Gods and Good Omens (the latter with Terry Pratchett) were #2 and #4 tp
on the Borders/Waldenbooks list in the same issue.

"Spar" by Kij Johnson won the Nebula for Best Short Story of 2009.
Also, it was nominated for a Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award, but as
she is an award juror she removed it from consideration.
