I've seen press pots more frequently during the last few months; in part
because the local Starbucks is now promoting it as the best cup - I
suspect a corporate policy. They also charge the same prices for brewed
or pressed coffee, so those not in a hurry are pressing.

Local coffee shops have followed suit - sort of - but with lesser coffee
at higher prices.

The insulated, stainless steel Frieling is a good, durable way to go
IMHO. The Frieling is a classy-looking unit (well, for steel - the
classiest units are breakable, glass Bodums, IMHO); stainless doesn't
break; insulation keeps the coffee viable a little longer, and helps
prevent scalding customers.

Local shop bought a bunch of these at a discount and is selling off the
excess at retail.
