We have 3 here, the only one that closed was a former Barnie's location in the mall and another one in Target is thriving. Two others have drive-throughs, one busy, one not (the drive thrus). Purely from my observation, their rush to expand didn't factor in driving through as a priority here in Florida. Where they could stack the cars, or (as Dave said) had the real estate, or could convince local zoning boards, they built them. My days of bashing Starbucks are over, as I don't think it benefits our industry as a whole, but I will say this. Having spoken with several Starbucks insiders, and watching with intense interest over the years, I think they approached the market with a shotgun strategy, which has led to their current woes. No focus. Lots of missed targets. The difference is now that they've switched from buckshot to birdshot....al On Aug 12, 11:04 am, bernie <bdig...@zianet.com> wrote: > Does anybody know the percentage of sbux which have opened in the past > 5 years without a drive-though?
