The reviewer said that the grinder doesn't handle oily beans well,
resulting in grossly underdosed shots when using a normal/fine grind.
A coarser setting on the grinder produces a larger mass of coffee, so
the shot is more properly dosed.  The extra coffee more than makes up
for the coarser grind?

Sounds plausible from here.
