Deserving the highest Honors, the “Greatest Generation” defeated three major military
(Axis) powers in five years. Germany itself was defeated in less than one year of
fighting, which, to date, is 1/9th the time it has taken today’s
generals who have been fighting in Afhanistan (less than 1/12th the size of occupied
Europe) now for over nine years.
