Only freeware I ever upgraded to payware were WinZip (when Nico Maki
started it way back and it cost about $6.00 with free upgrades for life
until Corel bought it out and tried to charge me to upgrade...went
freeware again after that with  another one) and, back in the day, I
purchased Polyview and still have it and still get free upgrades even
after 15 years.
