While your cynicism is admirable, in the case of Pt's stingray you could
just go to the MusicMan website.

They give loads of useful setup information, and also the type and guage
of strings supplied as standard.

As far as I can tell they are the only major mass produced instrument
maker who makes this basic and essential information available to the
public.
