Cowed by CIA and NSA reports of a powerful Soviet Union --- which we now know were greatly inflated by our "intelligence community" --- the U.S. meekly allowed dictator Castro to rule our nearby island neighbor for almost 50 years. If the CIA and NSA had not [intentionally] failed us then, as they did before the 9/11 attacks, we could have missiled and bombed and annihilated Castro and his cadre, and Cuba would today be a prosperous, democratic ally. Of course, priorities of our military-industrial complex (MIC) had a lot to do with it; without the bogus and exaggerated "Soviet Power" reports, our wasteful defense budgets might have been greatly reduced. And who in the MIC would have stood for that?[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
