maytag performa clothes washer

I just bought a Maytag Performa Clothes washer a couple of week ago
from Lowes.  This was to complement the Matag clothes dryer I bought
a couple of months ago.  The clothes dryer is awesome !  Works very
well and my wife loves the roll and rewarm cycle to keep the clothes
from wrinkling.

The washer sucks !  If you put anything heavy in it (like a towel), it
walks all over the place and makes a HORRIBLE banging noise when
it is spinning the water out.  I cant even hold it down and I am a 240 lb
guy.  Should I take this piece of junk back and get a Whirlpool washer ?
This washer replaced a 25 year old maytage washer that was getting
fairly noisy so I figured it was getting ready to die also.  Wrong, I should
have kept it until it died !  I am afriad that my wife or daughter is going
to get hurt around this piece of junk.
