In Romantic movies, the actions are carefully carried out subliminally
since in order for the romance to last, it must survive the twists and
turns. There is nothing hypothetical about it to the experienced
audience. Kubrick's Clockwork Orange is a science fiction novel termed
as such because it builds on a future based on hypothesis. The most
predominant hypothetical film is Arthur C. Clarke's 2001. 2001 which
is a symbol of the early progeny. He proposes a futuristic model and
by inspired readers to carry it out in the form of praxis so it can be
realized. Quentin's Inglorious Basterds does add hypothesis to the
movie but it is mainly didactic. Since science fiction is a work of
the imagination, the possibility of it becoming wild has a comic
potential. Since things intersect with humorous irony as it reduces
current myth by an attack on it. Reducing myths to comedy. For romance
to be hypothetical rather than didactic it must introduce a new
element..which Twilight does through paradox in Love. But for the
experienced audience the solution is clear.
