I think yes, it IS a metaphor for homosexuality and "coming out". Matrix 1 is about the "coming out". In real life, Neo is a gay man in the closet. In that movie, he chooses to come out. Matrix 2 is more about exploring his new homosexual life, with his boyfriend, Morpheus. Agent Smith symbolizes the "old life", chasing him. But Neo doesn't want to give up his homosexuality. In Matrix 3, Neo sacrifices himself for the homosexual lifestyle, destroying the "old life", the false heterosexual life. Mind you, the death of Trinity symbolizes that Neo doesn't need females in his life anymore. He is becoming ONE with the homosexuality. Many people in the gay community are thankful for that movie, it's so hard to talk about "coming out" and homosexuality, but the "Matrix" movies have helped so many gay men to be at peace with their own homosexuality!!![ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
