Hello, I am new to genetics and I have a grey-pearled male cockatiel (he is losing his pearls for the moment). The female is a lutino. Picture of my birds: www.on5us.be/cockatiel.jpg I am reading books now, to learn about mutations. Can the male and/or female be split for another color? What kind of birds can I get with the birds I have, and what sex do they have? I heard it is unwise to breed 2 lutino's together. Is this only when both have a bald area behind the crest? In other words, is it ok to breed with a lutino with bald area to a lutino without a bald area? Any sites are welcome where I can learn more about genetics for cockatiels. Many thanks, Peter Bruyneel.[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
