So le'ts look at the ORIGINAL phrase used

Notice the first part
"you break into someones home.."
It sets a CONDITION for the second part
"and you DESERVE to be shot dead like a dog..."
In effect the first action
"you break into someones home.."
is what earns you the possibility:
"to be shot dead like a dog.."


See how simple that was
