As the price of food and other commodities soar, foreign aid from the U.S., the world's most generous contributor, has been forced to cut back. The price of corn and wheat has soared because of increased world demand and consumption and shortages caused by the diversion of much agricultural production to biofuels to produce methanol. It is believed that burning methanol instead of fossil fuels will reduce greenhouse gases. Where the money would be better spend in the Third World, especially in Africa and Muslim countries, is in birth control. Too many babies are being born in these poverty-stricken areas and the world is now dangerously overpopulated. The world population should be reduced by about 4 billion people and then the problem of green house gases would disappear. -- Beside economic rights, political rights are unimportant unrealities. Changes in the form of government amount to nothing where economic life is not free and a laissez- faire monarchy [or autocracy] is much better than a socialistic democracy.--Herbert Spencer "Ethics of Evolution of Society".[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
