A new report by the Solicitors Regulation Authority reveals that non-
white lawyers are “overrepresented” in disciplinary tribunals and
character or suitability assessments - but then ascribes the cause to
racism by white lawyers.

This tactic - of blaming whites for non-white problems - is typical of
the liberal inversion of reality. Instead of addressing the real issue
- why non-whites are overrepresented in ethical problem issues in the
legal profession, it is much easier just to blame white lawyers for
being “institutionally racist.”

The same type of twisted logic is employed in others aspects of
society, notably crime, education and employment. Police statistics
show, for example, that the majority of street crime in London is
committed by non-whites. When the police simply do their job -
catching criminals - they are accused of being “institutionally
racist,” as if it is somehow their fault that the majority of
perpetrators come from the ethnic communities.

In education, where government figures show that black schoolchildren
are far more likely to drop out or underperform, the school system is
then “racist” or “failing black kids” - i.e. it is the white system
’s
fault once again, and has nothing to do with the ethnic community
itself.

The SRA report, authored by Lord Ouseley, the former head of the
Orwellian “Commission for Racial Equality”, says the organisation is
open to the charge of being institutionally racist and was “more
likely to investigate ethnic minority lawyers than white ones.”

Furthermore, Ouseley, an expert in forcing bizarre racial views on
other aspects of British society, claims that the SRA is “plagued by a
leadership that lacks competence on diversity issues.” What he
probably means by this is that they are too white for his liking.

Ousely writes that the SRA has “deficiencies which impact adversely on
[ethnic minority] solicitors.”

The review, jointly commissioned by the SRA, into why black and Asian
solicitors were more likely to be targeted by the organisation,
followed years of complaints from black and Asian solicitors that the
SRA treats them “unfairly” (i.e. actually investigates them when they
are reported for wrongdoing.)

Ouseley avoids the issue of blaming ethnic lawyers for their own
actions by blaming the white lawyers: “Potentially this still leaves
the SRA open to the charge of institutional racism, as its policies,
procedures, practices and actions, however unintended, can be seen to
have disproportionate detrimental and discriminatory outcomes for BME
[black and minority ethnic] solicitors.”

He continues: “Not to be under-estimated is the level of prejudice and
bias which exists among personnel in this and other similar
organisations.”

The role of the SRA, which regulates more than 100,000 solicitors in
England and Wales, is to protect the public by ensuring solicitors
meet high standards.

The review looked into why black and minority solicitors were over-
represented in areas of regulatory activity and why minority
solicitors are referred to disciplinary tribunals and a
disproportionate number of black or Asian student applicants are
referred for character or suitability assessments.”

Peter Herbert, chair of the “Society of Black Lawyers” (imagine a
“Society of White Lawyers” - what would Ouseley say!) and a member of
the working party that produced the report, said: “Black and minority
solicitors faced racism. This is as serious for the legal profession
as the Lawrence inquiry was for racism in the Metropolitan police.”

The “Society of Asian Lawyers,” (sic) said it had no confidence in the
SRA to police the solicitors’ profession in a fair and impartial way.

Chairman Sundeep Bhatia said: “The report clearly demonstrates that
the SRA has not learnt the lessons of the 2006 initial impact
assessment and continues to disproportionally target BME lawyers and
solicitors in all facets of its regulatory work. The SRA appears to be
incapable of putting its own house in order. Token lip service to
equality and diversity is not the way to dispel allegations of
institutional racism. Radical root reform is required as a matter of
urgency.”

That’s it, blame whitey once again. They are responsible for all non-
white problems. Sorry we asked, we should have known.

*The only party which has the political willpower to tackle these PC-
lunatics head on is the British National Party.
