Jews return to Germany

Jews who fled Hitler, and their children and grandchildren, can become
naturalized Germans under a German law which has been on the books since the
1950s. For many people, that means receiving a European Union passport that
can pave the way for living and working in Europe.

Most of those taking advantage of the law are from regions of the former
Soviet Union, but there are also applicants from the United States, Canada
and Australia. More than 4,000 Israelis also received German citizenship in
2006, a 50 percent increase over 2005.

According to the German government, there are now some 200,000 Jews living
in Germany, up from 25,000 before the 1989 collapse of the Berlin Wall.

[ So when things get good again, people return, unwary that the same
conditions that prompted the initial problem still exist. Let us make it
clear: no two ethnic groups (cultures) share the same values, and to put
them in the same space is to make them conflict. A better solution is to
send all Germans to Germany and leave all Jews in Israel. ]
