I wholeheartly defend extremely tough stance with extremely harsh prison sentences without parole. I make no apology what so ever to see the prisoners mentally tortured. I defend the sadist prison guards who constantly abuse criminals because they are simply doing their job. Criminals should be ineligible for compensation arising from abuse in prison. I however don't want to see criminals pass away. I want them to wake up in their cells with constant nightmares for the entire sentence. If i have my way I will introduce mandatory life imprisonment sentence without paroles for rapists as well as murderers and they will have to serve time in a 3 m by 3 m cell and stay there for 23 hours a day with 1 hour of exercise for the entire sentence. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/04/30/2557304.htm Honeymoon Gap rape 'like horror film' By Alice Brennan Posted Thu Apr 30, 2009 3:35pm AEST Updated Thu Apr 30, 2009 4:28pm AEST "I would rather die than go through those hours of torture again" ... rape victim. (ABC Graphics) Map: Alice Springs 0870 A man convicted of abducting and raping a 46-year-old woman near Alice Springs has been sentenced to 21 years in prison, with the judge saying the case read like the script of a horror film. The court heard that in June last year, the woman was standing near the public phones outside the post office in Alice Springs when 26-year-old Jason Carroll forced the victim into her own van and drove her to Honeymoon Gap, west of Alice Springs. She tried several times to convince him to drop her off and take the van but soon became terrified and began to scream. Carroll grabbed her by the hair and raped her several times. He also repeatedly hit her with a jack handle as she begged him not to kill her. After several hours, Carroll decided to leave the gap and drove towards Hermannsburg. The woman escaped by jumping from the moving van, breaking her coccyx. A family from Hermannsburg stopped and took her to the police station. Police say she had torn clothes, was dirty and had grass in her hair. 'I would rather die' In sentencing today, Justice Trevor Riley said the case read like a script from a horror movie. Carroll's conduct was "callous and outrageous" and in the most serious of this category, he said. Justice Riley read out excerpts from the woman's victim impact statement. "When I was being assaulted, I experienced indescribable pain, humiliation and terror," she said. "I would rather die than go through those hours of torture again. "I do not feel safe in this world anymore. "Sometimes I stay in bed all day. "It's like being in prison. "When I'm in public now, sometimes I become overwhelmed and I experience panic attacks. "Everything becomes a sea of confusion." Justice Riley told Carroll: "She is a 46-year-old woman whose life has been devastated by your actions" He gave Carroll a non-parole period of 16 years.
