Qs: Shanks

How hard is it to make a shank in your average prison? And do you know
of any accounts of your fellow prisoners having purchased shanks or is
that you all make them yourselves? And if I was a prisoner, what would
be the average amount of days that I would be able to carry around a
shank on my person before the gaurds find it on me or in my cell? Will
I always be able to find some kind of object to make a shank with, or
sometimes it takes a while? If I donj't wajt to join a gang or if no
gang will have me, I;m thinking a shank is something to look into. I
take knife fighting classes, but I'm not good yet.
