This following passage is from the Greasy Lake.Org community, a Springsteen, Bruce fansite, http://www.greasylake.org http://www.greasylake.org/the-circuit/index.php?showtopic044 "Freedom" September 19, 2001 & "Devils & Dust" 2005 compared here at MegaUpload, less than 1 mb in size. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UIKZEBAV I got to add myself here, With risk of being sued not by Bruce Springsteen and honorable associates of, but by the actual artist whom co-wrote/performed "Freedom" with me, September 19, 2001. (it's a long personal story and I won't spoil the mood of this forum) "Freedom" has this "jam" at the end of a 1-2-3-4 count that if you listened close enough, you'd find startling similarities to "Devil's & Dust" the song from Springsteen's 2005 release. The factor? "Freedom" was released worldwide and especially within the Springsteen and Queen music communities and related forums via the internet, for free but is registered with ASCAP and the US Copyright Office. No suites here, not by me, nope "ain't gonna happen" I suppose the beat that sounds like a rim shot used during "Devil's & Dust" would've been a great addition to "Freedom" if I had only, we had only taken it from just vocals, 12 string guitar and G Blues harmonica. Not as "Freebird" like jam inspired as I had mentioned to the co-author, but still, moving enough back then, in front of a live audience and recorded in one take as it'll ever get. I did go to Bruce's atty about it, and was introduced to he as an artist with some new music to listen to. he in turn sent me a letter finding no similarities. In the coming weeks, I'll leave a snippet of "Freedom" and "Devil's & Dust" on my home page or here, for your perusal. It's up, you listen, please. The first part is from "Freedom" the 2nd part is from "Devils & Dust", the overall transgression from Freedom to Devils & Dust, the harmonica solo and guitar riffs...... You know how to find me and for the record, the only management I've got is me, myself and I, atty representation too, I'm no atty, just repping myself. WKMahler In the end (if the end ever comes) at least, my efforts got me into college, Cape Cod Community College, this coming January through May 2009, music. The Tilden Arts center rocks!
