JMM withdraws support to Koda in Jharkhand

The 17-member JMM legislative party has withdrawn support to the Koda Government supported by 42 MLAs, including Independents and other small parties. A major ally, the JMM has been supporting the Koda Government from 18th September 2006. Three of its MLAs--Deputy Chief Minister Sudhir Mahto, Agriculture Minister Nalin Soren and Revenue Minister Dulal Bhuyan--are in the Koda cabinet. JMM president Shibu Soren sought an appointment with Governor Syed Sibtey Razi this evening to apprise him of the political situation of Jharkhand in this regard. Jharkhand, the crucial meeting of JMM legislators and MPs has begun to discuss the leadership issue. Most of the JMM legislators and MPs are taking part in the meeting which will finalise the strategy of the party. The JMM President Mr. Shibu Soren will also hold a meeting of party central committee this afternoon to arrive at a consensus on change of leadership in the state. As reported, Mr. Soren has indicated that he will not hesitate to withdraw support from Madhu Koda government, if Mr. Koda does not step down for smooth transfer of power. Mr. Soren has announced that he should be appointed as next Chief Minister replacing Madhu Koda. Mr. Soren is also scheduled to meet state governor Sayyed Sibte Razi Sunday evening.[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
