Tuner connection niggle!

Hi folks
Hope you can follow this!. I have a Humax HD Freesat tuner connected
to the tv with a scart lead to AV1 on the tv and also HDMI lead to
HDMI2 on the tv. I also have a dvd recorder connected to the tv with a
scart lead to AV2 and also HDMI lead to HDMI1. If I switch on the
Freesat box it goes to AV1 on screen and stays there, If I switch on
the dvd recorder it goes to AV2 and then automatically to HDMI1 if you
follow this I just wondered why the Freesat box doesn`t switch to the
HDMI connection automatically. If I check the Freesat HDMI2 connection
manually on the tv the signal is there fine it just doesn`t switch
automatically which I gather it should with a HD transmission like on
BBC HD??
