I've recently had fitted a motorised satellite system (1m dish) here in the UK and whilst I can get many satellites in the arc from 53E to 45W, I notice I'm missing a few satellites. I'm in a reasonably built up area in the middle of a city and looking at dishpointer.com with it's Line of Sight checker, it appears to me that it's possible that chimney stacks across the street are blocking the line of site for the satellites I am missing (including Sesat, Badr4/6, Astra 3A, 9/10E and Atlantic Bird 2 and a couple of other minor birds). Could this be possible? If so, should the dish be raised by the chimney height (the dish is around 2.5m or so off the ground and could be raised by another 2m with some help)? I rather foolishly only checked reception of Thor, 28.2E and 30W before assuming all was okay and since this was spot on assumed all was okay - as it happens it looks as if the dish is tracking the arc fine as I am getting a lot of sats in the arc but a few are obviously missing. The mounting pole is dead level and the motor is set to 0 on Thor. John[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
