Hi, just bought a TV which includes a Freesat decoder. I have borrowed a tripod mounted dish and LNB from a camping friend and cabled it up. I have used http://www.uksatellitehelp.co.uk/2007/08/01/alignment-calculator-for-sky-digital/ to give me an angle of dangle etc. and roughly set up the dish, but the TV reports that it cannot see ASTRA 2. Next step seems to be some kind of tester or meter to help me align the dish with the satellite. Looking at Maplin there seem to be two types: (1) Cheap testers which rely on the receiver to supply power (2) More expensive (and very expensive) testers which have their own power source. If I buy one of the cheap ones, will it be obvious if I am not getting any power from the receiver through the cable? Should I shell out some more and get a more expensive tester with built in power? Do these testers show if the LNB is working even if it is not aligned? Any recommendations? I could possibly justify spending a bit more (£50-£60) if I decide to get a 12v decoder for use in the camper van.... Cheers Dave R[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
