Hi all, I'm in Rome and I'm looking to buy a scooter. I test drove one today, a 2001 Aprilia Leonardo 150 with 38000 km. I see a lot of these around the city, they're real Roman workhorses. Anyway, the thing rode well and had nice brakes. The owner told me, however, that he "has to fill it up with water every three weeks or so" because of overheating. Also happens on long rides, he says. Now, he's offering it for under market value, around 425 euros. I've seen these bikes usually going for around 500-600. But the overheating worries me. Is this something that could be a simple fix? Am I taking a real gamble? I know that he's leaving the country by next Tuesday, so I'm in a position to bargain him down. Do I try to negotiate down to something like 300 euros to offset the risk? The owner doesn't know anything about scooters, and neither do I. Thanks for your advice. FYI: A link to the bike specs (in Italian, but may be intelligible to a scooter pro): http://www2.motorino.it/nuovo/scheda.php/63/ApriliaLeonardo+150.html Marc[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
