Those Peaceful, Reasonable Iranians

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Global reactions to the test of new Shahab 3 missiles on Wednesday during

the Blessed Prophet manoeuvre showed that political and military quarters of

the world believe that Islamic Republic of Iran's defensive power is

something to reckon with and cannot be ignored.

The first and the most obvious effect of the successful test of the missiles

was the retreat of Zionist regime that immediately announced: "Israel has no

wish to wage a war against Iran."

Although this retreat is related to the Shahab 3 missiles with 2,000 km of

effective range, it also reminds the Zionist regime of a terrible and

historic defeat. They remember that during the 33-day war in the summer of

85 [2006] against the Lebanese Hezbollah, the smaller missiles launched by

Hezbollah warriors which were quite insignificant in power compared to

Shahab 3 missiles, had rendered them desperate and they fell to the verge of

complete disintegration.

These points can make the leaders of Zionist regime understand the reality

that if they wage a war against Iran in the region they shall not be safe

from severe retaliation, and Iran's defensive power would crush Israeli

troops even before they could do anything.

In recent weeks the leaders of that regime, especially the military leaders

had spoken a great deal about the possibility of attacking Iran's atomic

installations. While the Blessed Prophet manoeuvre was an appropriate

response to their threats, their immediate response to the manoeuvre and the

test of Shahab 3 missiles indicated that the effective and serious damage

inflicted on them as a result of the defeat in the 33-day war has

demoralized them for good and is still affecting their morale and they

cannot relieve themselves so easily from that nightmare.

The point worth mentioning is that the leaders of Zionist regime resort to

the gross lie that Islamic Republic of Iran is engaged in producing atomic

weapons, and that the world should not allow such thing to happen, consider

themselves entitled to threaten and intimidate Iran and claim the right to

attack the peaceful atomic installations of Iran. They know perfectly well

that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses only the knowledge for peaceful

use of atomic science, and as the International Atomic Energy Agency [IAEA]

has announced repeatedly, it is absolutely not for manufacturing atomic

weapons. So, the uproar of the Zionists and their poisonous publicity is

some sort of psychological warfare to achieve their particular, hostile and

malignant objectives.

What is still more important in this episode is that the Zionist regime

itself has a large stockpile of atomic weapons and does not respect any

international regulation, and is not even controlled by the IAEA, and yet it

objects to others, whose activities are supervised by the atomic Agency and

have never violated international regulations and the NPT treaty, why they

possess nuclear knowledge! The Middle Eastern region is threatened solely by

the existence of Zionist regime; of course the Arab states and Western

powers that support that regime also face this threat. A regime that

possesses over 200 nuclear warheads and has waged war several times in the

region and upsets the stability of the region every day ... how could it

consider others a threat to its existence. Indeed it is true that the

Zionist regime is subjected to threats, but that which is threatening this

regime is not the military power of its neighbours, but rather the

illegitimacy of that regime and the hate and abhorrence of regional people

from that regime, and these factors could not be uprooted with military

power.

As for Islamic Republic of Iran's military might too, as Iranian authorities

have repeatedly proclaimed is in no way directed towards commencing a war

and initiating an attack against this or that country. But it is an

important factor for defending Iran and making any potential aggressor and

enemy regret its move.

It is precisely for this reason that the leaders of Zionist regime, after

receiving the news and information about the testing of new Shahab 3

missiles, quickly backtracked from their previous position and retreated and

openly announced that Israel has no intentions to entangle with the Islamic

Republic of Iran.

It is also proper for all countries and powers to appreciate this reality

that Islamic Republic of Iran's defensive power is not limited to Shahab 3

missiles only, and we have other capability and potentials through which we

could counter all threats and it is not only the Zionist regime that has

yielded to and announced its inability to withstand vis--vis the defensive

power of Islamic Republic of Iran, rather all potential aggressors and

enemies of Iran ought to understand this reality that should they undertake

any action or raid against Iran, they shall be met with the same mighty

power and shall undoubtedly regret it.
