In defense of Tino, he was simply made out to be a better hitter than he
actually was.  He actually wasn't that bad in St. Louis compared to the rest
of his career (he put up OPS+s of 105 and 106, compared to his career 112
OPS+), it's just people expected him to be much much better than he really
was because the Cardinals management and local press hyped him.
