That's not the problem. The problem is how to work in Nimoy or Shatner or Nichols without the cliches of time travel or flashbacks. What are you going to show? They're too old to play active duty Starfleet officers. It's why I have said for a long time that Paramount should make a fundamental decision to NOT cast any of the original TOS cast anymore. Cut them loose and then you don't have to play games with time travel, flashbacks, getting unstuck in time, etc., in order to jump from the present day of these actors' age to some past era. -- Steven L.
