Yes, I've had the meter for a couple of years now.My last doctor
prescribed it for me.She told me then that my sugar was up a little but
nothing to be concerned about.She said she was not going to say I was
diabetic and she wasn't going to say I wasn't.But she wanted me to just
keep it checked and she kept it checked also.In the office and the three
month blood work.
When I went to the Neurologist,I told him about my Glucose being high
and wondered if it could have been from the meds.He didn't think so,but
that is all he said.
I have not been diagnosed as diabetic yet.I haven't seen my primary
doctor yet.I go to her next Weds.
I was on Diovan and then she put me on Avapro and the Neurologist put me
on Plavix.My B/P is doing fine on those tho.I have never had high B/P or
High sugar before.Just started with both lately. The B/P started just
one night last Sept.And the Glucose problem started right after that.
I think I'm just old and falling apart. LOL
I started on the Metformin the day before Thanksgiving.And I haven't
been back to see her since then.She just gave me an appointment to get a
test again the 27th and come on up to see her afterwards.
I think the same way about the eating 4 small meals a day.I think I
would eat more that way.The nurse told me the reason for this was so I
wouldn't eat a big meal for supper.I don't eat big meals for supper.I
eat a small meal at supper and I eat it early around 5 or 5:30 PM.The
diet she put me on is more than I eat now. LOL
Thanks, Donna,for the advice.And I do think maybe making a list of
questions to ask when I go will be a good thing.Gotta remember to do
that.
