I'm not sure when/why we decided to do this but it ended up being
ok. On Friday I picked up the kids and three of their friends and
took them swimming. Then they had a sleepover here. Sat. morning I
took the kids back to their homes while the SO got stuff ready. When
I got home we packed up and headed out to try out a new climbing area.

We stayed in a campground we've stayed at before (not the greatest but
not bad) and got to go to the best place on the planet, bar none, imo.
(garden of the g*ds in CO springs). The new climbing place turned out
to be _just_ what we have been looking for!! It isn't too crowded but
there are people around. The base of the climbs is safe and easy for
the kids to hang out and play on. The climbs are challenging enough
but not too hard. There are topropes available or lead climbs. The
access is easy and not too long of a hike.

It is a bit hot (not a lot of shade) and the rock is sort of crumbly
sandstone, so that's the down side to it all. But I got to do some
_real_ climbing for the first time since the kids were born without
worrying about the kids. The kids had a blast and actually did some
real climbing and loved it.

We got home at supper time today (monday) so we could get organized
for the week and get kidlette packed for her leadership trip on Wed.
It will be an overnight camping trip with just the oldest kids in
her area. That way they are ready to be real leaders for the younger
kids when they go on the bigger trip later in the year. And of course
fritz has his first hike at this level this week too so we have to
plan for that. He will be responsible for teaching the youngest kids
how to behave on a hike.

The colors blend, the edges soften. Swirling and mixing
we are becoming white light.
