I was over at a friend's house yesterday evening. She has a rescue
corgi who had an unhappy puppyhood. When she got him, he'd crouch down
in fear ready for a blow. Not good things had happened to him. :-(
Now, though, he's a happy boy. He still doesn't like being patted, but
he LOVES to have you throw toys for him to retrieve. He loved my
throwing a stuffed frog which he would wrestle and thoroughly kill
before bringing it back for me to throw again. Very sweet dog. I threw
for him all evening, and he was in 7th heaven. :-) That's the language
he understands. "If you throw for me, that means you love me." Yup.
