I believe that show to be punitive and damaging.

I find the Adlerian psychology based Positive Discipline to be both
effective and supportive and nurturing to the emotional needs of a
child.  Actually it works for any relationship.  It addresses as many
issues we have with the children as we do with each other.  I'm using
the book Positive Discipline by Jane Nelsen as well as taking a workshop
which I highly recommend searching out.
