typical....

> I want a 50-50 split of assets and liabilities.

that IS fair... but don't count on it.

this is what YOU have a lawyer for.

> What do you think will happen if I refuse her lawyer's uneven split?

your lawyer will counter.

> They are trying to offer me only 25% of our paid for house.

make that 50% of it's currently appraised value, in cash.

> I built this house and paid for the whole thing.

unfortunately you undoubtedly live in a "community property" state.

note that for your attorney that she didn't contribute to the common
expenses... might help.

me too

> I'm willing to accept a delayed sale of the house, like till my kid is 18.

ok... maybe... IF she puts up a cash bond for the value of the house.
otherwise she's liable to trash it... or keep it up a little... THEN
trash it when she moves out.

> But at that time I want half of what it sells for.

and if it sells for squat your attorney will have it so you get to keep
the cash bond to fall back on....

> She can live in the house. She will have to pay the upkeep.

why?

is she paying your interest on your investment?

> I'll have to pay spousal support and child support.

why? if she's getting the use of the house and you're NOT getting your
interest NOW that should count against support.

> Am I being fair to ask for 50% when it sales in the future?

you're being a sucker.
