Oophorectomy and yellow discharge

Hi,

My partner had an ovary and fallopian tube removed 4 weeks ago. ( They
were twisted, gangrenous and the ovary had a large cyst on it.
Apparently, no tissue could be saved. ) She has been recovering very
well physically. Her period started and stopped when expected and
everything has seemed fine. The yellow discharge she had been having
for 6 months before the operation stopped completely as did the inter-
menstrual bleeding she has had for 10 years. All in all, everything
has seemed better "down below" than they have for years and this has
given her great comfort.

However, yesterday and today she has had a yellow discarge which is
concerning her. Not as heavy or as smelly as before, but she's in a
state, fearing that whatever went wrong before is going wrong again
and she's going to lose the other ovary ( aged 30 no children yet. )
Her surgeon told her that the other ovary was perfectly fine, but, she
has gone through hell for years with doctors not listening to her
gynecological problems.

In short, she doesn't trust them. We live in the UK but had to pay for
her operation because the NHS claimed she was only suffering from
period pains. Immediately after her operation her surgeon told her
that she should have had an emergency operation on the NHS ( National
Health Service ) months earlier. She hadn't been able to work for
months, she was passing out with the pain, was vomiting intermittently
for days on end and couldn't function.

She will contact her doctor tomorrow but is not hopeful of getting any
sense. What we were wondering is, could this discharge be some
temporary thing, muck if you like finally getting flushed out after
the operation and internal healing process completes itself. The
yellow discharge started the day after her period ended and coincided
with two days of dramatically increased physical activity. She hasn't
moved much for a month, but for two days she has done a lot of
walking, getting in and out of cars and generally doing quite a bit
more for herself. Has she just "shaken" and "loosened" stuff up that's
been waiting to come out for a while??????

Apologies if I have posted to the wrong group. I'm assuming some of
your posters may have had a similar operation albeit for different
reasons.

Many thanks in advance.
