Child porn learned on offenders' course TVNZ, New Zealand: 30 October 2009 http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/child-porn-learned-offenders-course-3103259 [ http://tinyurl.com/yjrs9uz ] A man sentenced to 20 months' jail for possessing child abuse pornography says he learned how to access the material from someone he met on a Stop course for sex offenders. Jeremy Grant Bourne, a 27-year-old baker, was sentenced in Christchurch District Court on Friday, the Christchurch Court News website reported. He had earlier admitted 10 charges of possessing and distributing child abuse images. Crown prosecutor Sara Jamieson said the charges arose from 10 of 300 images found on Bourne's computer. Bourne had been convicted for sex offending in the past. He said he had been introduced to this type of pornography by someone he had met at the Stop programme, a treatment programme for men who have sexually abused or offended. He had used a file sharing programme which made the images available to other internet users, Jamieson said. Bourne suffered from depression and had sought counselling after being discomforted by the images he saw, his lawyer Matthew Martin said. "He's really learnt his lesson here. He is well on the way to ensuring this never happens again." Judge Michael Crosbie said every image involved the abuse of a real and actual child. Putting the images on the web for others to view and share encouraged "that insidious industry". A home detention sentence would not be sufficient denunciation or deterrence, he said. It would also be wrong to return him to the environment where the offending had occurred, Crosbie said.[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
