A dollar a pop seems incredible. But they are free to charge what they please - I have previously argued that they missed out on millions by failing to price their potentially revolutionary Microlink technology. Instead of being bought by most hearing aid wearers (all brands) the technology hardly made a ripple, even amongst Phonak users, because of its high cost. I would estimate its penetration at a fraction of 1% of the potential. If they really charge this much I can see myself making my own filters from scrap fabric with a pair of scissors! But let Phonak have the last word - from an email: I will forward your suggestion to include more filters to my hearing instrument colleagues. I am not sure they cost nothing. I estimate the cost at 1 CHF a piece. If we had to add just one dozen to each hearing instrument, we have an additional cost of many millions of CHF, so this is not as straightforward as it may seem. But thanks again for your suggestion. With kind regards, Hans E. Mülder Director of Marketing[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
