nothing to do with religion. He explained that AIP began as "basically

Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so
independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the

minimize. In fact, for seven years, her husband, Todd, was a member of
the fringe political party that advocates secession (he left in 2002,

Palin’s husband Todd explicitly distinguished “Alaskan families” from
“American families.” It was a jarring suggestion that they’re not all
