David Palffy Comments "Blade: The Series" picks up sometime after "Blade: Trinity." Blade has moved back to Detroit, Michigan, the city where he was born. Whistler has been replaced by Shen. The vampires in Detroit have now organized themselves into "Houses". There are the Houses of Chthon, Armaya, Erebus, Leichen, and Saggara. The vampires themselves are separated into two "bloods." The purebloods are the ruling vampire class, and the turnbloods are vampires who were human before they were turned. Summary 1.01 Series Pilot Part 1. Krista Starr returns home from her stint as a sergeant in the US army only to learn within minutes of walking through the front door that her twin brother Zachary has been shot and killed. The police chalk it up to drug and gang activity because of the tattoo on Zack's neck [anyone who has seen the Blade movies will immediately recognize the tattoo as the sign of a vampire's familiar], but Krista maintains that Zack was not in a gang and decides to conduct her own investigation. Krista steals Zack's police file and learns that he and Danny Milano were previously arrested together. She confronts Danny, who provides no information but does drop a vial containing some druglike substance that Krista pockets. She googles glyphs until she finds the one on Zack's neck; the description directs her to Professor Melvin Caylo. Caylo identifies the stuff in the vial as Hominus nocturna (vampire) ash, worth thousands of dollars on the street. Kids use it for the vampire powers it gives them for a few hours. He identifies the glyph as the mark of a familiar belonging to the House of Chthon. Vampires? There are no such things, Krista tells herself. On her way home, her car is rear-ended. When she gets out of her car to check on the other driver, someone steals her car. Then a voice whispers to her from inside a building, saying that he knows who killed her brother. When she follows the voice, she is attacked by two vampires. Fortunately, Blade jumps in to ash the vampires after having followed Krista ever since he saw her snooping in Zack's apartment. Krista's disbelief in vampires is now a bit shaken, but she returns to the professor who tells her about Blade, the vampire hunter. Krista decides that she wants to get in touch with Blade, so the professor gives her Blade's only known address. When Krista goes snooping there, Blade confronts her again. He advises her to leave town before the vampires get her, but Krista refuses. She wants to hunt down the killer of her brother, and she won't leave. So Blade takes her in his confidence. Blade has also been following the doings of Marcus Van Scriver, a high-profile developer who has been pumping his energy and money into redevelopment of historic buildings in Detroit. Scriver was pointed out to Blade as a member of the Vampire House of Chthon, and Blade wants to know where Chthon is located and what Scriver is up to. When Blade learns that Scriver will be present at an opening for the Scriver House Art Gallery, he asks Krista to attend the opening and plant a transponder on Scriver. Part 2. Krista is dolled up and looking fine (and in voice contact with Blade) when she walks into the reception room at Scriver Gallery. She attempts to plant the transponder on Scriver but he is too protected by his current girlfriend Chase and his bodyguard Fritz, so Krista walks up and introduces herself instead. When Scriver asks her name, she replies, "Katherine," but he recognizes her immediately as Krista Starr, sister of Zachary. Krista escapes to her car and has an earphone delivered to Scriver so as to communicate with him. Scriver admits that he killed her brother; Zack was nosing around too much for a familiar, he says. Krista aims a sniper rifle at his head, but Scriver keeps moving and ducking behind humans. Concerned that Krista has screwed up, Blade hops on his motorcycle and heads over to the gallery. Unfortunately, before Blade can get there or Krista can fire a bullet, Chase sneaks up on Krista and captures her. Scriver takes Krista to the House of Chthon. Without permission from the elders to create a new vampire, he injects his blood into Krista. Now, all she has to do is to die, so he tosses her off a 15-story building. Krista awakens several hours later to find herself in a bodybag in the morgue. She rips it open and runs outside where she is met by Fritz and Scriver, who take her back to the House to sleep it off. The next night, Chase is ordered to take Krista out and show her the ropes. Chase shows Krista how to find the safehouses of Chthon, warns her to stay away from House of Leichen, and takes her to the Chthon abbatoir for her first drink of blood. Meanwhile, Blade is searching for Krista. He wants to find her before she accomplishes her first kill so that he can inject her with the same serum that helps him deal with his own blood thirst. First stop is to talk with Danny Milano. Just before Blade eliminates him, Danny gives him the name of a cop, Detective Brian Boone, who might know where to find Krista. Blade hides a transponder on Boone's car and follows him to the abbatoir. Boone is a familiar who has a deal with the vampires. He picks up prostitutes, robs them, and then gives them to the vampires for food. Unfortunately for Boone, Scriver is displeased with him and gives him to Krista for her first kill. So what has Scriver and the House of Chthon been up to? They're researching a vaccine that they hope will render vampires immune to the effects of garlic. So far, it hasn't been successful. All the vampires on whom they have tested it end up ashing when sprayed with garlic. When Blade shows up at the abbatoir, Fritz begs Scriver to inject him with the newest serum so that he can fight Blade. Scriver is reluctant but agrees. This time it works. Blade is surprised when his silver bullets don't stop Fritz. Shen, who is waiting outside, helps out by emitting a high frequency hum that hurts everyone's ears. Scriver calls Fritz off, and Chase and Krista attack Blade. Blade stabs Chase with a silver stake, putting her out of action. Shen emits a second round of high frequency whine, allowing Blade to hold Krista down long enough to inject her with his serum. Blade drives off on his motorcycle with Shen following. Weakened from his fight with Fritz, Blade has a hard time staying on his cycle and eventually falls off. Shen picks him up. Krista goes back to her apartment. She tries jumping from her window to a distant rooftop and finds that she has the power. The serum is making her think more clearly. She goes to the cemetery to visit her brother's grave. Blade meets her there. He explains how the serum works and invites Krista to work with him, just like her brother was doing.[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
